Meet Boyd Lite

The Boyd Lite retains Rocklabs’ proven double-acting fine jaw crushing technology, reducing samples from 70mm to 2mm with efficient, consistent output. Built on the same crusher architecture that underpins the Boyd range, the design emphasises durability, serviceability, and safety within a streamlined footprint suited to smaller laboratories.

Rocklabs Launches Lite Crusher for

Small-Scale Mining Labs

[Auckland NZ - 25 Feb 2026] - Exploration and site-based laboratories do not all operate at the same scale, but they all depend on trusted, repeatable sample preparation. Rocklabs, a Scott Technology company, has introduced the Boyd Lite crusher to meet this need - delivering proven crushing performance in a configuration designed specifically for small-scale mining and exploration laboratories.

Developed in response to customer feedback and validated in African mining markets, the Boyd Lite expands Rocklabs' Boyd portfolio to support exploration programs and smaller-site laboratories focused on dependable crush-only sample reduction.

"Our Destination 2030 strategy is built on being customer-first, and the Boyd Lite is a perfect example of that commitment," said Mike Christman, CEO of Scott Technology. "Not every laboratory operates the same way, so we're building a portfolio that meets customers where they are, whether that's standalone equipment or full lab automation."

“Quality sample data is mission-critical for mining and exploration programs," said Werner Conradie, President of Mining, Scott Technology. "Early-stage exploration programs and smaller site laboratories need equipment that delivers performance, safety, and reliability - with the same data integrity as full production operations. The Boyd Lite delivers exactly that - the same trusted sample preparation our customers depend on in the Boyd Elite, now configured for smaller-scale applications.”

Rocklabs will discuss the Boyd Lite with customers and partners during PDAC 2026 in Toronto (Booth #750), the mining industry's largest annual gathering where over 25,000 professionals convene to evaluate new technologies. The company will showcase its full portfolio spanning standalone laboratory equipment to fully automated modular systems.
