JBS Canada breaks ground at new distribution center site

As a key partner in the JBS Foods Canada new state-of-the-art distribution center project, We congratulate the JBS team as they broke ground on the site earlier this month marking a key milestone in the development. This development underscores JBS’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance its supply chain and operational efficiency

"In a strategic move towards automation, JBS announced a partnership with Scott Technology in 2022 for a $71 million project aimed at automating warehousing operations."

A collaboration between Scott’s European and North American business to deliver a complete automated materials handling and logistics solution for automated storage and retrieval (ASRS) complete with automated palletisation. The system complete with ASRS shuttles, AGVs and highspeed palletisers is set to an handle and store over 100,000 cartons, manage 600 SKUs, pick 3,000 cartons per hour, ship over 40,300 cartons per day and palletizes over 120 pallets per hour.

Expected to finish construction in Q4 2025, this center will increase the shipping capacity of JBS Canada’s Brooks facility by up to 40%, reduce storage costs, minimize errors, and most importantly, improve worker safety.
