On Friday 16th September at the 2022 Australian Good Design Award, BladeStop - Safety Bandsaws received a prestigious Good Design Gold Award in the Product Design category in recognition for outstanding design and innovation.
The Australian Good Design Awards is the country’s oldest and most prestigious international awards for design and innovation with a proud history dating back to 1958. Each year, the Awards celebrate the best new products and services on the Australian and international market.
The 2022 Good Design Awards attracted high-quality design projects from Australia and around the world. These innovative projects were evaluated by more than 70 Australian and international Jurors, including designers, engineers, architects and thought leaders. Each entry was evaluated according to a strict set of design evaluation criteria which includes Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact.
“With its unique dual-sensing operator monitoring system and ultra-fast braking mechanism combined with its considered fit-for-purpose design, the judges were immediately impressed with BladeStop’s pursuit of enhanced operator safety.
Its uncomplicated function of the control unit and vision sensing system are unobtrusive to the operator. Cleverly distinguishing between human flesh and the product being processed, it allows an operator to walk away from an incident with a minor cut rather than a serious injury.
Protecting any user from possible injury and potential psychological trauma is paramount. Offering this high level of operator safety not only helps boost user confidence and reduces workers compensation but also improves productivity. A technological achievement that well deserves recognition at the highest level – Congratulations.”

"It’s great to be recognised with the Good Design Gold Award for 'Product Design – Commercial and Industrial' on the 10th anniversary of BladeStop being sold across Australia and the world. It is a recognition of all the hard work that has occurred in the past, as well as the ongoing product design development to ensure that we are making operators use of a bandsaw as safe as possible. Bandsaws are inherently dangerous, so all of those involved in all aspects of the design, development, production, service and sales of BladeStop across the world take their responsibility seriously. This is an amazing effort on behalf of the entire BladeStop team."
